Text Telephones at UC Berkeley

TDD Symbol Text telephones are telephones with typewriter-like devices that permit hearing or speech impaired persons to communicate by typing message over telephone lines. These devices are also known as teletypes (TTY) or telecommunication devices for the deaf (TDD).

Telecommunication Relay Services

Relay services allow TTY and eligible Internet users to contact "voice-only" telephone users and vice versa. Speech-to-speech relay allows persons with speech impairments to contact persons with normal speech and vice versa.
